It produces offsets very freely. They hug the mother rosette, creating overlapping circles. In the spring and early summer, a flowering spike bearing loose clusters of small, bell-shaped orange-red flowers is on display. This is one of the hardiest of the Echeverias, tolerating short durations of temperatures down to 20 F (-6 C).
