Echinopsis Hakujo Cactus Plant

Echinopsis hakujo Cactus-Summer Blooms Family Cactaceae Native South America Description Echinopsis hakujo is a rare and unusual cactus cultivar, instantly recognizable for its woolly areoles that line the ribs like a white seam, creating a striking contrast against its green body. It often develops a crested or monstrous form, making every specimen unique. This cactus may produce large, showy white to pale-pink funnel-shaped flowers during the warm months, though flowering is occasional and often a delightful surprise. Its compact size and distinctive appearance make it a collector’s favorite. Environment Echinopsis hakujo requires exposure to full sunlight or bright indirect light for optimal growth. Water it minimally, ensuring the soil dries out thoroughly between watering sessions. Plant in a well-draining mix designed for cacti and succulents. It thrives in warm temperatures and must be shielded from frost. Apply a diluted cactus fertilizer monthly throughout the growing season. Expect blooms from late spring to early summer. Landscape Uses It is an excellent plant for container growing. It always looks good and stays small and perfect for tabletops, windowsills, and rock gardens.
